Who can join the program?

Had a stroke in the last 12 months
Have aphasia (language difficulty)
No other neurological conditions (brain conditions)
Spoke English before stroke
Can use a tablet or computer
No severe apraxia or slurred speech (we can check for you)

  • A speech pathologist provides therapy to a group of three (3) people with aphasia.

  • M-MAT Tele is thirty (30) hours of online therapy

  • The therapy is done from home.

  • M-MAT Tele is two hours per day, three days each week over five weeks.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost for this therapy.
You will not be paid to participate.

Can I keep doing my usual therapy?

You can continue your usual rehabilitation. You can't participate in other research programs during M-MAT Tele.

Do I need to travel?

You don't need to travel. Everything is done online.
